Day 300 Let's ride

I’m going to a plant swap this weekend. Not sure why, still not sure what it is. I hope it’s not a cult. Mother is going to teach me how to drive. The basics: Drive on the right hand side, work on my road rage insults and do some donuts in a Sainsbury’s car park.

Salads:

Aubergine + white bean

Sundried tomato + lemon rice

Mushroom ragu pasta

Soup: Gazpacho

Sandwich: Lingua beef, Fontina cheese, salsa verde + tomato

Day 299 Brotherly love

My Brother graced us with his presence yesterday. I fell asleep of the sofa and was rudely awaken by him grabbing my feet and shaking me like a rag doll. Sure, having a sibling is great but sometimes you just want to kick them in the teeth. #famiglia

Salads:

Moroccan spiced lentils

Olive + preserved lemon rice

Spinach + cashew pesto pasta

Crab stick potato salad

Day 298 Sunny with a chance of conflict

The gremlins will break up from school soon. I mean children. The conversations in the shop are quite political at the moment but they always seem to end with one of the most British statements ‘at least the weather’s nice’. Such simple beings the British are.

Roast pepper · tomato + basil pasta

Feta salad type thing

Soup: Sweetcorn · ginger + tomato

Salads:

Med veg + lentils

Sumac rice

Chicken + tarragon pasta

Chickpea · paneer + spinach

Soup: Tuscan tomato + basil

Day 296 Bittersweet

Here’s my critical analysis. The Italians didn’t play any better than England in that match but they have been better overall. Now let’s look out the fall out. The way you treat your team when they lose says more than when they win and the reaction of many in this country has lifted the curtain on the racism that some people like ignore. This is bittersweet for me.

Lightly spiced sweetcorn rice

Broccoli · chilli + garlic pasta

Soup: Roast squash + tomato

Sandwich: Pastrami beef, Pecorino romano, Jalapeno relish + tomato

Day 295 Shake it

You know when you’re so engrossed in a series and then it ends and you don’t know what to do with yourself? That feeling is coming people. Rainbow rice

Roast vegetable pasta

Korean spiced pork noodles

Soup: Tuscan tomato with courgette + rosemary

Red pepper rice

Broccoli pesto pasta

Sandwich: Mortadella ham, Manchego cheese, Jalapeno relish + tomato

Day 284 Early bird catches f*ck all

I woke up earlier than usual this morning so I had more time in my day and I seem to have lost it somewhere. I’m writing this from my windowless basement but my weather app tells me it’s sunny, you know what that means… It’s gonna be a busy day!

Salads:

Ginger + turmeric curry + black eyed bean

Indian spiced rice

Smokey aubergine + tomato pasta
